About
Images from a Glass Eye International Photography Contest and Show
Now in our seventh year, the Images From A Glass Eye International Juried Photography Show began as a way to acknowledge and celebrate the artistry involved in composing photographic images, reaching as far back as Ansel Adam's dark room creations.

In 2010, a like-minded group of photographers in our Tehama County Photo Club and the surrounding communities had been seeking ways to showcase their photographic art and found there were not many opportunities to do so. There were no International competitions in Northern California.

The Images From A Glass Eye Committee was formed and The Big Picture Frame Shop hosted our first international Juried Photography Show. With grants from the Tehama County Arts Council and California Arts Council, we purchased professional gallery panels to extend the gallery space.

We have attracted some of the top photographers from around the world, bringing with them stories of many cultures through their powerful images.  It has been amazing to view the similarities as well as the differences in lifestyles here and abroad.

In 2013, our International Glass Eye Show was relocated to the state-of-the-art gallery in the Tehama Country Visitor Center, which has become a natural showcase for the exhibit, since it attracts tourists from all over the world passing through.  We are located near the Sacramento River and are the "Gateway to Lassen National Volcanic Park."  So there are many photographic opportunities in our area.

Our jurors are selected for their expertise in a wide range of photographic genre and host workshops for area photographers the day after the opening reception. We feel strongly about offering on-going education for photographers on the latest trends, techniques and ideas.

We also feature the images selected for the Gallery exhibit in an online gallery on this website and publish a high-quality Show Catalog available free to all those attending the reception or visiting the gallery. Copies are also available at cost online through this website.

Even though we are proud of the work we have put into this Show, it is the photography submitted that makes it successful.      We look forward to having you share your artistry with us and be a part of our Show.  You may sign up on our home page to be added to our contact list.
